New CARELL 4RH 17/5 | New Bending Equipment, Carell Plate Rolls

Our 4RH.PBS.NC 17/5, is a 4 roll, double pinch, fully hydraulic, NC Controlled plate roll which will pre-bend 10' x 5/8" and roll up to 3/4" plate. Machine has independent hydraulic adjustment and inclination of both lateral and pinch rolls; hydraulic powered rotation of the top roll and pinch roll using direct coupled high efficiency hydraulic motors and planetary reduction units.

All 4RH-NC Plate Rolls are standard with the Latest Technology Siemens SIMATIC HMI TP-700
Comfort Series NC Automatic Cycle Programmable Controls and automatic roll paralleling via our
digitally controlled Proportional Balancing System (PBS). This system automatically maintains roll
inclinations for cone rolling. We employ the latest technology Siemens S7-1200 CPU/PLC for
immediate machine response to command input.

Carell 4RH, SIHR & SIH Series Plate Rolls are built with larger hydraulic roll thrust cylinders, higher
capacity cylinder stems and larger displacement hydraulic motors which increases performance and
allows lower hydraulic system pressures. This also permits use of a higher efficiency electric motor to
power the pump group. Distinct Advantages are significantly increased hydraulic system service life,
reduced maintenance and higher energy efficiency.

DRIVE SYSTEM:

reduction groups for near 100% torque transmission efficiency. No gears, low maintenance.

OPERATION & CONSTRUCTION:
-Direct Thrust Roll Movements eliminate swing arms and deliver power directly to the rolls
- Hydraulic Drop End with long opening stroke and heavy yoke, operated from control desk
- Hydraulic Top Roll Elevation makes part extraction easier, faster and safer (20/3 and up)
- PLC Electronic Controlled Positive Parallelism System (PPS) on rolls via proportional
valves, maintenance free without using mechanical moving parts or torsion bars
- Automatic Tilting of lateral + pinch rolls, no manual cams/jacks, maintenance free
- Dual Spherical Roller Bearings on both end journal of all Rolls, eliminate bushings and
afford long life even under extreme loads
- Pinch Pressure Regulation, allows operator to compensate for various sheet thickness
- Heavy Single Weldment End Frames are stress relieved and reinforced at load points to

ELECTRICS / HYDRAULICS SYSTEMS:
-Top Brand OEM Non Proprietary Components in a NEMA type enclosure with IEC/DIN
switchgear, overload protection, low voltage 24VAC controls and TEFC/IEC electric motors.
Wiring is solid and stranded copper, industrial rated in appropriate AWG in protective sheaths
and conduits as required. We do not use delicate micro-flat ribbon wire that is used on some
other machine brands.
- Integral Hydraulic Unit uses SAE/ DIN modular, top name, non proprietary OEM components
- PONRV + Pressure Relief Valves ensure steady positioning and protect against overload.

ELECTRONIC PROPRORTIONAL ROLL BALANCING SYSTEM:
-Positive Proportional Balancing System (PBS) employs high resolution linear sensors and
digitally controlled hydraulic proportional valves to maintain rolls parallel even under eccentric
loading. System can operate to within 0.006” tolerance. Operator can input a ‘tilt’ for cones that
will be automatically maintained during the rolling cycle. You benefit this virtually maintenance
free balancing system.
- Our PBS system eliminates up to 75% of moving parts found on other types and torsion bars.
